LOVING ANOTHER CENTURY'S EPISODE 2

I got bored today and decided to play ACE 2 with my handy dandy joysticks. I played ACE R just a few hours ago though and finished Zeta series which is my 2nd play through. I will go back to acquiring the Hi-Nu in ACE R after I'm done with this game.

RE GZ//

I am playing as the RE GZ now and it's an awesome. It has fast melee attack speed and a variety of weapons such and missiles and dummies. You also have access to cool weapons on mobile armor mode that you can purge and remain in mobile suit form for the rest of the mission. It's Circle,Triangle combo is nice because it stuns enemies but take a bit of time to execute giving a chance for enemies to evade.

I have only played this game recently and I am greatly comparing it to ACE 3. ACE 3 is my favorite amongst all in this franchise.

FEATURES Vs. ACE 3

There are a variety of features ACE 2 that are unique from the rest of the ACE series.

MELEE //

First I like to tackle the melee attacks where unlike in ACE 3, you can dash after a melee attack (provided its not the end combo) whereas in ACE 2 you cannot. If you are about more than 500 distance then your suit will like be stupid and attack stationary unlike other aces that still chase forward towards the target. It's best you attack from a good close distance around 400. The melee attacks are a bit faster than the others though.

You can also cancel combos and combo again by going neutral after a slash at a quick moment then combo again.

CLASHING BLADES //
Sabers may clash with enemies at times (especially bosses) and a struggle ensues ala DBZ. Press the button rapidly to win or else you'll be stunned.

MELEE BREAK//
Bosses can break your melee combo (even tho they are being hit) and thus leaving you stunned wide open for enemy attacks.

FLIGHT//

It's kinda weird that the suit automatically "levels" itself with the target. It can be convenient for closing in and more accuracy but can get you near obstacles like your missiles will hit the ground when your target is on the ground as you. It can be confusing at times. The vernier is noticeably 20% more than ACE 3. More flight sweet time. The flight speed seems faster than ACE 3 but the controls are the same. Among all, ACE 3 is the best in this criteria.

WHERE TO SHOP?//

It's uncool that you can only access the shop on the free mission menu. Good thing I scoured google and came across gamefaqs informing me that. How would a newbie suppose to know that on the first stages of gameplay? Good thing they fixed that in ACE and ACE PORTABLE.

END THOUGHTS FOR TODAY//

The story is interesting and fast paced story transitions during mid mission is really great. Graphics is more or less the same as ACE 3 but the cut scenes are more dynamic I would say. I only have ACE 1 left to complete my collection. The game also has a voice version but I chose to play the non-voiced bgm version to separate my experience from listening to Gundam and anime soundtracks because I listen to Gundam music on a daily basis. I like it listening to instrumentals of my favorite Gundam songs every once in a while.
